Chloe Scoones

Chloe grew up in a small village in Oxfordshire with her Mum, Dad, Brother and their Old English Sheepdog Chief. As a family they had a variety of companions from Guinea Pigs to Snakes and this is where Chloe’s love for animals began.

After attending University in Kingston, Chloe made the move to the Kent countryside for her dream job working for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home at their Brands Hatch centre. Chloe has worked at Battersea for almost 7 years, currently as a Canine Behaviour and Training Advisor.

Battersea was where she was first introduced to ACE techniques during workshops with Sarah Fisher and Sarah Whiffen. Chloe had often found that focusing on just training alone was not working for these dogs and something was missing. She was completely inspired by ACE and this became a way of life for her work with rescue dogs. Chloe has continued to layer her knowledge and experience ever since, with regular trips to Tilley Farm, as well as teaching and integrating an empathetic, compassionate, and ACE approach in her work at Battersea.

Chloe also fosters dogs for Battersea, from puppies to some of the more difficult characters. Her longest foster was a Lab x Lurcher called Pluto who was with her for almost a year. He now lives a very tranquil life in the countryside with her parents. Chloe currently shares her home with her best friend of 10 years Spritzi, a gorgeous White German Shepherd, and a very sweet Chihuahua cross Buddy who was a failed foster!

Chloe spends her days working with some of the most scared and traumatised dogs in rescue. She believes in a calm, quiet and gentle approach when working with them (and their humans!). Chloe likes to focus on all of the small details, listening to their communication, and building their trust and confidence. Her heart lies within rescue.
